Since opening in 2012, YOGAthletix has made a positive impact on the East End by making yoga and fitness accessible to all of its residents. We also support the community in various ways, both inside the studio and outside the studio.
We offer free women's self defence workshops regularly, as well as free outdoor yoga classes and boot camps in the neighbourhood whenever weather permits.
To support new moms, all of the weekday daytime fitness classes are baby-friendly.
In an effort to support local businesses, we have a community board at the studio where clients and neighbouring businesses can promote their products and services.
We are a huge supporter of the Toronto Humane Society, and host regular donation-based classes for them. The YOGAthletix run club also participates in the Scotia Bank half marathon on their behalf.
As a yearly sponsor of the Terry Fox Foundation, we offer free yoga sessions to the participants of the annual Terry Fox Run at Wilket Creek Park, the biggest run site in all of Canada.
When Toronto hosted the Pan Am and Para Pan Games in 2016, we hosted yoga classes on the main stage of the athlete's village every Monday morning as part of free fitness activities offered to the public around the city.
Over the years, YOGAthletix has raised money for numerous other organizations, including The Red Door Family Shelter, TEAM Dog Rescue, and The Arthritis Society through pay-what-you-can “karma” yoga classes where all of the proceeds are donated directly to the cause.
We also offer an ongoing trade program that allows people to donate their time and talent to the studio through studio maintenance, copy editing, photography, acupuncture, web design, and other services in exchange for classes.
We are always looking for new ways to support this great community, so if you have a suggestion please contact us!
