Barb is a fitness instructor at Yogathletix and she teaches the GETnFIT and GETnRIP’D classes. As a lifelong athlete, she grew up riding horses and playing competitive water polo. An avid runner, she has several 10km and half marathons under her belt as well as one Tough Mudder race. Barb loves to move and believes that movement is the best medicine. Her positivity, high energy and creative exercises will get you moving too, and feeling the benefits of exercise in no time.

 Barb has a Bachelor of Life Sciences, a diploma in respiratory therapy and is a certified anesthesia assistant. She also holds certifications as a personal trainer (DTS Level 1PT, CanFit Pro PT) and SCHWINN indoor cycling instructor. After working for many years at the hospital, Barb decided fitness was her true passion, and we couldn’t be happier she made the change. Her commitment to client success makes her classes motivating and accessible. She will celebrate with you whether your goal is to lift five more pounds of weight, get through a single class or run that bucket-list marathon.

 When Barb isn’t teaching at the studio she’s often busy with something physical like taking a weekend class, running with her dog Takoda, gardening or at the dojo working towards a purple belt in Karate. But she does take a break from the healthy life and indulges in wine and ice cream – (not at the same time), to reward her hard work.
